Business & Enterprise

As a specialist school our overall aim is to:

Raise attainment for all students both in the specialist subjects and across the whole curriculum
Strengthen and develop the quality of teaching and learning strategies in the specialist subjects and use them to help raise standards throughout the school
Extend opportunities for vocational learning and enrichment activity
Develop within the school, characteristics which signal its specialist ethos and identity which are reflected in the school’s mission and objectives
Work collaboratively with partner school, local, national and international communities to broaden students’ educational experience

Examples of some of the activities we have been involved in;

Work with primary and secondary schools to develop their enterprise capabilities
Competing in regional and national enterprise Master classes and debating competitions
Inviting entrepreneurs and companies e.g. HSBC into school to work with students
A two week work experience placement for Year 10 students
Annual Fashion show organised by creative departments
Annual Enterprise Week of activities
Students setting up and running a small company and a school bank
Producing a termly B&E newsletter
